Is this introduction interesting (humour/urban fantasy)?

My writing style is extremely different from yours; I have yet to write about a modern-day story, excluding the one I wrote for a competition, but that was non-fiction. To me, I just don't think it would be good. You have a hard time explaining everything either way. And why the hell is the neighbor wailing?
